Welcome

Welcome to my blog. This is a journal of things in my life during the adoption process. If you want to start at the beginning you need to read backwards. What this means is go to the archives (January 2006) and read through to current time. I enjoy reading your comments, so please post your thoughts for me to read. Colette

1 Year Ago Today.....

One year ago today a beautiful shy scared baby was placed in my arms. Bob & I cried tears of joy. Our family was now complete. The long wait was over, we finally had Olivia. I can't believe it has been a year, it has gone by so fast. Olivia is a true joy and is such a happy baby.

I have been asked when I am going to have her go to a Mom's Day Out one or two days a week. The answer is "I just don't want to leave her and be apart from her". When Megan was her age she went to one, I needed that break. Here I am 11 years later you would think this old brod would want/need a break.... but I don't want to be away from Olivia. I know that it would be good for Olivia so I will have her in a program in the fall. I am sure Olivia will do fine, I'm just worried about me. Haha!

I will forever carry a special place in my heart for China. We went half way around the world to get our daughter. A trip of a life-time. WONDERFUL!

Happy Gotcha Day Olivia!

Love, Mommy

Hi - ONE YEAR! Can you believe it. I have been thinking of you all day. Marc and I were trying to remember every detail of the day and the evening is a bit of a blur. I think maybe we just sat and stared at her - I'm not sure. What an amazing few weeks. I wish we could meet up at the Chinese restaurant in the Dolton tonight to celebrate with you guys. We could have one of those ginormous beers and toast our perfect girls.

I understand the not wanting to be away!!!

Love tons and tons and tons

Happy Gotcha Day, Colette! What a grand event to celebrate!

And you will know when it's time for Olivia to begin that time away from Mom, being the good momma you are.

Love to you and your family,
Susan
