Welcome

Welcome to my blog. This is a journal of things in my life during the adoption process. If you want to start at the beginning you need to read backwards. What this means is go to the archives (January 2006) and read through to current time. I enjoy reading your comments, so please post your thoughts for me to read. Colette

Christmas Day

When Megan was little she was timid opening up presents. She was this way until she was 3. Well, Olivia loved tearing into the packages. I think that was her favorite part. She liked opening the presents more then what was insided the present.
Megan got mostly clothes.... she is 12 remember?!?!? Olivia's favorite gift was her Dora Bubbles.... that is all that she wanted to play with for the day. So much for all of the rest of the toys!

Merry Christmas From The Walker's

Olivia's First Christmas

This was our first Christmas with Olivia. It was a big difference from Megan's first Christmas. Megan wa 11 days old on hers. I will say Olivia was a little bit more aware of the "special day". She loved the Christmas tree. She loved the lights and the ornaments. After church Christmas Eve we came home and I tired to take pictures of Olivia in front of the tree. She wouldn't cooperate, she just wanted to look at the santa cards.
I will say that this was the best Christmas in awhile! We stayed in Tulsa this year for Christmas. Having my family with me. ... I couldn't ask for more. It was just Bob, the girls and me.

Megan Turns 12!

I can’t believe it has been 12 years since Megan entered my life. She is a wonderful person and I feel honored to call her my daughter.

We celebrated her special day with a slumber birthday party. There were a total of 7 girls here. WOW! I forgot how loud girls can be. The girls all seemed to have a good time.

Ice Storm Damage

We know for sure that 2 of the trees are going to have to come down. We are afraid the 2 in the middle will have to come down too. We will find out this weekend.

We lost power for 36 hours here in our house. It was terrible. I didn't realize how we depend on electricity so much. Not just for lights & heat but music, tv, computer, refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, washer, dryer, etc.... At least we have a gas stove so we were able to use the burners. I would boil water and pour it through my coffee maker (got to have coffee). I would also boil water for the girls to have hot chocolate. One day we made eggs for breakfast then macaroni & cheese for dinner. It got down to 53 degrees in the house.... brrrr cold. I slept with Olivia to keep her warm
I felt so out of touch. We couldn't get any of radios to work with batteries. We tried 3 different radios with new batteries.... it was crazy.
My good friend, Debbie & her daughter, Alex stayed with us all week. She was without electricity till Friday. We made the best of the situation by getting caught up. Once we got power we watched lots of movies. Alex & Megan entertained each other that helped me and Debbie to not go crazy.
I now realize it is a good thing I was born when I was, I don't know if I could have lived 200 years ago.

Sammi

Sammi has gotten comfortable in the Walker house. She is a lot more active. She jumps like a deer or a kangaroo... it's wild.

Decorating The Christmas Tree

This is Olivia's first Christmas tree. She had fun decorating it! She would put the ornaments on fast and ask for anther one.

Play-Date At Utica Square

Olivia & I met our weekly play-date @ the out-door mall here in Tulsa. We strolled around looking @ the different Christmas decorations.

We tried to see Santa. Well, the rest of the gals seen him, but Olivia wanted nothing to do with the "scary man". Olivia had the look of fear in her eyes and gave me the death grip.

Oh well, we will try next year to see Santa.
